It's a struggle that most don't know
Because on my face
It did not show
I carried a glow
Focusing on
Being that pro
Of
What others said
Would make me flow

Walked and talked
Carrying the unknown
Because it was unshown
In the most obvious way
Of being known
So
Others did not speculate
On the problem that had grown
Or fuse that had blown
Becuase I was the one
With the neutral tone

I lived and survived
Carrying the unknown vibe
That I was afraid
That I would die
While still living
This emotional lie
And I worried this
While watching the time
Steadily tick by

I carried the tale
That many said meant I failed
So
I struggled within myself
But always prevailed
I struggled through and made it out
So now I celebrate
Because I know what it's about

It's not what others see
That makes me Cortiss
It's what's been put in
And what's been growin'
The struggles I had some say
Make me a victim
But I say victim or not
It's victory I've got
I've overcome and prevailed
And that's the story I tell
It's not a pitch or pun
Or item I sell
And you don't have to understand
Because that's cool
That's part of my growth
I thought you knew!

The stuff that's thrown
That once was unshown
Doesn't make this sista'
Or mix me in a twista'
I'm up past that
Earned my stat'
And I'm moving on
Because from that I've grown
